iaX platform validated in the Journal of Virological Methods – gold-standard precision in 5–20 minutes

iaX platform validated in the Journal of Virological Methods – gold-standard precision in 5–20 minutes

NordicDx is proud to announce that a new landmark study, conducted in collaboration with Statens Serum Institut (SSI) and the University of Copenhagen, has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Virological Methods.

The research demonstrates that a lateral flow assay (LFA), combined with automated machine reading, delivers 100% sensitivity in serum samples. Beyond the specific results for African swine fever (ASF), the study serves as a powerful proof of concept for the quality, sensitivity and broader diagnostic potential of the NordicDx iaX platform.

Bridging the gap between lab and field

Traditionally, high-precision diagnostics have been confined to centralised laboratories equipped with complex instrumentation. This study shows that, by applying intelligent machine reading, the portable LFA format can be elevated to a professional diagnostic level.

By replacing subjective visual interpretation with the iaX reader, NordicDx enables:

  • Objective results: eliminating human error and interpretation bias.
  • Quantitative data: converting biological signals into precise digital data points.
  • 100% sensitivity: demonstrating that rapid tests can achieve gold-standard performance levels under the validated study conditions.

Beyond African swine fever

While the study focused on the detection of ASFV antigens, the implications extend far beyond a single assay. The success of this machine-read LFA approach validates NordicDx's broader platform strategy across a wide range of diagnostic applications, from animal health to human health and other point-of-care settings.

"This publication confirms our core vision," says NordicDx CEO Tommy Selnes. "It proves that we can deliver laboratory-grade performance in a rapid, 5–20 minute format. The results validate our platform technology and provide strong proof of concept for a wide range of diagnostic applications, with the sensitivity, precision and robustness needed to support many different targets."

A digital diagnostic future

The integration of rapid testing with digital traceability is no longer a future concept. It is now a documented reality. NordicDx continues to lead the way in developing high-precision point-of-care (PoC) solutions that are sensitive, specific and fully digital.

Commercially available and ready to deploy

The iaX system and NordicDx's portfolio of high-precision tests are commercially available. Organisations interested in learning more about the platform, evaluating relevant use cases or exploring partnership opportunities are welcome to contact the NordicDx team directly at post@nordicdx.no or +47 416 00 011.
